Who Are We
Welcome to The Young People's Foundation (YPF) website. We are a certified substance use disorder program with the Department of Healthcare Services. YPF was founded in 2012 with the mission of helping young people 12-18 and young adults 18-21 recover from substance use disorder and learn to live productive, socially acceptable lifestyles.
Our team consists of licensed and certified professionals. Peer support specialists have lived experience with treatment and recovery from substance use disorder or mental illness. Services are for a trauma-informed lens and meet the client where they are in their recovery journey.
We offer a range of services, including outpatient and intensive outpatient SUD treatment, a Mentorship program, and Drug Education groups. Field-based services that reach the client in whatever setting, including Juvenile Hall, Short-Term Residential Treatment Facilities (STRTP), Shelters, Homeless Encampments, Foster-Care, and at home with parents or guardians.
Medi-Cal covers most of our services, and we are also funded by grants that enable us to provide treatment to our clients at no cost. We invite you to explore our services and contact us for further guidance on how we can assist you.
Treatment & Recovery
Recovery from substance use can be an arduous task. YPF utilizes all resources present at intake to ensure ongoing progress throughout the treatment episode. Progress will be measured by a reduction in substance use, adherence to placement setting rules and regulations, and satisfactory progress toward academic goals. YPF will teach youth how to enjoy life without the use on mind altering substances
Making a Difference
At the foundation we build influential relationships through mentoring and activities that create a bond between peers and participants. Interactions that expose underserved at-risk youth to stakeholders willing to invest and impart vision and hope to this hard-to-reach population.
